Introduction
In June 1967 starting as a handling agent and the in August 1972 starting out as an airline operation Air Mauritius has been around for the good part of 40 years. In 1977 they started international flights
and in 1998 was approved as a JAR (Joint Aviation Requirements) 145 Maintenance Organisation by the French Direction Generale de L'Aviation Civile (DGAC).
This meant that Air Mauritius can perform maintenance on aircraft and components belonging to the member states of the Joint Aviation Authorities and that the company can sell its services to other airlines in the region that requires a JAR 145 release.
